This course provides a foundational understanding of the core components of Power Virtual Agents, Power Automate, and Power Apps, along with a high-level overview of Power BI. The curriculum is centered around a practical workflow derived from my previous employment, where we constructed a Power App using Microsoft Power Apps to monitor tasks associated with home construction (utilizing SharePoint for simplified data storage). Additionally, we employed Power Virtual Agents to instruct users on enabling bots within Microsoft Teams. These bots guide users to documents scattered across various SharePoint sites, such as loan agreements, budgets, and sales contracts, as illustrated in our example. There is significant potential for deploying these bots within HR and IT departments to manage repetitive inquiries. The course also demonstrates how to configure simple flows in Power Automate to save attachments from designated senders (in this example, inspection reports arranged by the bank for the properties). Furthermore, it covers additional flows that save data from Microsoft Forms back to SharePoint and establishes fully automated processes using the Approvals app within Microsoft Teams. After completing the app, bot, and flow, the final phase involves creating a straightforward Power BI report. We use Power Automate to send a snapshot of the table containing the most recent completed tasks every two weeks to a specific recipient (the bank in this scenario). This snapshot requests a drawdown, including the dates the tasks were completed and their respective budget amounts (all data collected within the app). Please note that this course maintains a high-level perspective. For more technical aspects, such as coding or formulas in Power Apps, I recommend leveraging ChatGPT. However, the course includes a section demonstrating how to effectively utilize ChatGPT to assist with Power Apps formulas.
